Does the new Google Nexus One have an FM radio tuner included? The answer is complicated and out of the box the answer is no. Although this Nexus One teardown performed by the team at iFixit reveals that the phone contains a Broadcom (BRCM) BCM4329 chip which has FM transmitter and receiver functionality. The question is will there be an OS update or Nexus One radio app released in the future that allows the full use of this fantastic bit of Nexus One hardware? Time will tell.

FM radio may soon be a thing of the past due to the digital economy bill in the UK and we’ll be listening to streaming radio using our mobile phones more and more in the future.
